The Board of Education, administration, and faculty view class attendance as an essential factor in the academic process. For meaningful education to take place, students must be present in class and actively participating in learning activities.
It is the objective of this policy to encourage each student to attend school on time, for the maximum number of days and instructional periods possible. To achieve this objective, the District will use strategies such as positive attendance incentives and appropriate disciplinary and other consequences, as well as the integration of attendance standards for the purpose of conferral of course credit.
Written parent notes are required in ALL cases of absence or lateness. Parental cooperation is appreciated.
