Hospitality Academy at Hampton Bays

Long Island tourism is a $6.1 billion industry, according to Discover Long Island, the region’s official destination marketing and leadership organization.  According to the New York State Department of Labor, there has been a 61 percent increase in the number of job openings on Long Island.  As the competition for skilled workers increases, ensuring that a pool of trained and committed candidates in the hospitality sector is critical for the future of the tourism economy of the Hamptons.

The return of Canoe Place Inn and Cottages will help redefine Hampton Bays as a cultural destination on the East End. For the Hamptons hospitality industry to thrive as we enter a post-COVID era, it needs a trained, professional and committed workforce.  The Hampton Bays Public Schools will host "The Hospitality Academy at Hampton Bays" as an educational, engaging and interactive job training series that uses traditional classroom instruction, hands-on project-based learning and engagement with leaders in the field.

The Academy experience is free-of-charge to all participants, ages 18 and older.  Dinner is included at each session at 5:30pm and the classes start at 6:00pm.  Childcare is provided at no additional charge.  The program includes the following courses:
