Hampton Bays seniors earn AP Capstone diploma designation

An impressive 14 Hampton Bays High School seniors have earned the prestigious AP Capstone designation on their diplomas.
To earn this distinction, the students participated in their school’s AP Capstone program, in which they were required to earn a score of 3 or higher in two courses — AP Seminar and AP Research — and score similarly on four AP exams.
The Hampton Bays School District began offering the AP Capstone program in 2020. Through the course of study, students perform college-level work, delve deeply into a research project and write a research paper, all while earning college credit.
The district congratulates AP Capstone diploma recipients Lee Brumagim, Kira Clinton, Jaime DePalma, John DePalma, Joshua Garnica, Cristian Kearns, Nathan Kearns, Sebastian Martinez, Willem-Dakota Sarkis, Cameron Schmidt, Emma Schultheis, Louis Stellato, Charlotte Summar and Brayden Talmage
Additionally, seven students — Alan Cruz Rojas, Samantha Deleg, Samantha O'Neal, Jack Perez, Miguel Real Serna, Angelina Uruchima and Nikole Vasquez — earned Research Certificates. To earn the certificate, the students were required to earn scores of 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research.
The district congratulates these hardworking and dedicated students.
