My Story: Student #12

Mi historia a la llegada de Estados Unidos la contaré desde que me despedí de mi familia, de cómo fue todo el procedimiento. Todo fue hace un mes que mi tío nos dijo que si nos íbamos a venir. Mi mama con otro amigo dijeron que sí. Pasó una semana y nos preparamos para todo lo que iba a pasar. Nos despedimos de todos y yo me despedí de mi gato y mi abuela. Cuando nos dijeron la noticia para venirnos yo me puse muy triste. En ese momento no me quería ir, pero todo en la vida pasa por algo. Al final, decidí que sí. Cuando ya estábamos en el avión a México y ya nos bajamos en migración, nos preguntaron que hacíamos y cosas así.

Cuando pasamos México, nos quedamos en el hotel y nos fuimos a comer comida Mexicana. Disfrutamos los tres días en la Ciudad de México. De allí, fuimos en otro avión a Reynosa. Cuando ya nos bajamos, nos preguntaron todo lo mismo y pasamos. Nos recogieron en carro y nos quedamos en una casa por tres días. Cuando ya tocaba hacer todo el procedimiento de pasar era a las 8.00 de la noche, nos llevaron a un lugar con más gente y nos dejaron hasta las 5 de la mañana. Cuando nos llevaron al río,pasamos en bote hasta el otro lado que era los Estados Unidos. Cuando llegamos, nos tocó caminar diez minutos y de allí llegamos a la muralla y nos entregamos a migración. Nos quedamos un día y nos vinimos en avión a Nueva York.

I will tell my story when I arrived in the United States from when I said goodbye to my family– about how the whole procedure went. It all happened a month ago when my uncle told us that we were going to come. My mom and another friend agreed [to do the trip]. A week passed and we prepared ourselves for everything that was going to happen. We said goodbye to everyone and I said goodbye to my cat and my grandmother. When they told us the news to come to us I was very sad. At that time I didn't want to leave, but everything in life happens for a reason. In the end, I decided to come. When we were already on the plane to Mexico and we got off at immigration, they asked us what we were doing and things like that.

When we passed through Mexico, we stayed at the hotel and went to eat Mexican food. We enjoyed the three days in Mexico City. From there, we went on another plane to Reynosa. When we got off, they asked us the same thing and we went through. They picked us up by car and we stayed in a house for three days. When it was time to do the whole procedure, it was at 8:00 at night. They took us to a place with more people and left us until 5 in the morning. When they took us to the river, we went by boat to the other side, which was the United States. When we arrived, we had to walk ten minutes and from there we reached the wall and turned ourselves into migration. We stayed one day and flew to New York.
