World Music Concert

About 130 Hampton Bays Middle School students participated in the school’s first World Music Concert on May 19. Under the direction of Carolanne Mazur, three groups of students entertained the audience by playing the ukulele and three groups of world drumming students performed on the marimba. “The concert was a huge success and I'm so proud of all my students,” said Mazur.

Tri-M Induction Ceremony

Hampton Bays Middle School honored continuing Tri-M Music Honor Society members and inducted another nine student-musicians at a ceremony on March 30.

To earn induction, the students were required to maintain a GPA of 85 or above in all their classes and a 90 average in all music classes, perform 15 hours of community service and attend various music-related events throughout the school year.

Performances To Remember

Eight chorus and band students from Hampton Bays Middle School recently participated in Divisions I and II of the prestigious Suffolk County Music Educators Association All-County Festival.

They all dedicated so much time to prepare for this music festival and they all sounded fantastic, said music teacher Carolanne Mazur.
