Hampton Bays High School varsity lacrosse player Eden Brown impressively scored her 100th career goal on May 2. The junior co-captain made the goal during a game against Port Jefferson that resulted in a 13-12 win for the Baymen. The Hampton Bays School District extends its congratulations to Brown on this incredible accomplishment.

Hampton Bays seniors earn Zone Awards

Hampton Bays High School seniors Nathan Donahue and Julia Brandes were recently honored by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance as winners of the Suffolk Zone Award. The seniors were selected based on their outstanding character, exceptional leadership in the school environment and status as physical fitness role models for other students. Donahue is an All-County varsity football player and plays varsity basketball and baseball. Brandes is an All-Classification varsity volleyball player and plays basketball and softball. The Hampton Bays School District congratulates both students on this well-deserved honor.

Thrower Earns Accolades

Asha Pensa-Johnson throwing discus thumbnail265627

The Hampton Bays School District congratulates senior Asha Pensa-Johnson on being named to Newsday’s Top 50 Long Island Girls Track and Field Athletes. Asha was recognized for being named fifth in the state after throwing the discus 135 feet, 11 inches last June. She also threw the shot put for 36-5 ½, earning the third best mark on Long Island.

Accolades for Hampton Bays High School winter athletic teams

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association has recognized four Hampton Bays High School winter athletic teams as Scholar-Athlete teams.

To earn the recognition, 75% of each team was required to hold a GPA above 90%.

The Hampton Bays School District extends its congratulations to the boys and girls track/field teams, girls varsity basketball team and competitive cheerleading team.
