My Story - Student #16

Mi historia

Mi familia y yo decidimos mudarnos a Estados Unidos porque mis hermanas y yo aquí podemos tener una mejor educación y mejores oportunidades de vida. Fue un proceso largo. Duró aproximadamente 1 o 2 años. La espera fue muy larga y nuestros familiares pensaron que era mentira que nos íbamos de nuestro país y dejábamos a nuestros familiares y amigos,mi hermana y yo dejamos la academia de danza donde estuvimos todas nuestras vidas. Nos dolió mucho tener que dejar todo lo que amamos y extrañamos cada cosa y persona de Costa Rica porque apenas nos estamos acostumbrando, pero valió la pena. No fue nada fácil pero sabemos que aquí estamos mejor. A mi hermana y a mi nos va bien en la escuela y hablamos todos los días con las personas que están en Costa Rica que son importantes para nosotros e hicimos amigos nuevos.

My story

My family and I decided to move to the United States because my sisters and I can have a better education and better opportunities here.It was a long process to get here. It lasted approximately 1 or 2 years. The wait was very long and our relatives thought it was a lie that we were leaving our country and leaving our families and friends. My sister and I left the dance academy near where we were all living. It hurt us a lot to have to leave everything we love and would miss from Costa Rica and now we are just getting used to it, but it was worth it. Nothing was easy but we know that we are better here. My sister and I do well in school and talk every day with the people in Costa Rica who are important to us. We made new friends here
