To kick off the school year, Hampton Bays Elementary School first grade students in Claire Schick’s class collaboratively established a set of classroom rules that help foster a safe, productive and positive learning environment. The students promised to work hard, never give up, respect others, love learning and much more by tracing their hands in chalk on a board that lists the classroom rules. The board hangs in their classroom as a daily reminder of the promises they made for the school year.
