Snowflake writing

Students showing snowflakes project thumbnail263895

Inspired by the chilly weather, Hampton Bays Elementary School first grade students created paper snowflakes and wrote about them. To make the unique snowflakes, the students folded pieces of white paper and cut them based on their own designs. Once they unfolded their snowflakes, they discussed the uniqueness of each one and wrote about its attributes using at least two adjectives. Some students described their snowflakes as pretty or cute. Others wrote about the different shapes and sharp points they observed in their designs. The students’ sparkling snowflakes and writing pieces now serve as beautiful classroom decor that reminds them that they are each one-of-a-kind.
