The spring sports season has wrapped up in the Hampton Bays School District with a number of high school athletes earning accolades. The district congratulates the following student-athletes:

Girls Spring Track and Field
All-League: Allie O’Brien, Leah Fassino, Sofia Galvan, Emma Halsey, Izzy Ospitale and Asha Pensa
All-County: Sofia Galvan (2,000m steeplechase), Emma Halsey (100m hurdles and triple jump), Allie O’Brien (pole vault) and Asha Pensa (shot put and discus)
All State, All-Federation: Asha Pensa (shot put and discus)

Boys Spring Track
Set four school records in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 4x400m relay

All-League: Alan Cruz, Brian DeJesus, Daniel Feliciano, Charlie Garcia, Erick Ibanez, Xavier Johnson, Daniel Ortiz, Matthew Papajohn, Joffre Proano and Cesar Ramos

All-County: Charlie Garcia (100m, 200m, 4x400m relay), Erick Ibanez (4x400m relay), Matthew Papajohn (400m, 4x400m relay) and Cesar Ramos (4x400m relay)

All-Sectional: Charlie Garcia (three-time county champion in the 100m, 200m and 4x400m relay, broke school record in the 100m and 200m dashes; 100m time is the No. 1 fastest time in New York State)
