Hampton Bays Elementary School kindergartners recently enjoyed a visit from children’s author and retired New York City firefighter Tim Hoppey. Dressed in his firefighter gear, Hoppey read two of his popular books, “Tito, the Firefighter” and “The Good Fire Helmet,” to the students. Following the reading, the students had the opportunity to ask the author questions about his life as a firefighter and his writing.
